Murano glass sculpture modeled entirely by hand in the furnace by our glass masters according to the traditional techniques of the island.
The work is a tribute to the famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. The head is made with the submerged glass technique, which consists of initially creating the inner part of the object and immersing it several times in other layers of glass, adding details to each step. In this case the head has a glass layer inside covered with a 24 carat gold leaf. The hands are made on a transparent glass base and are decorated with red colored glass powder. At last, the base is made on a transparent glass bottom, is decorated with black colored glass powder and is subsequently subjected to an iridation process, an effect which, by evaporation of metal oxides, gives the surface of the object an irregular reflection of light.
The sculpture is signed by the artist with glass engraving.
A LA MURANO GLASS guarantee certificate is also issued which certifies its authenticity and origin.
* Note: Each piece is handmade, so colors and measurements may differ slightly from the photos and description. This feature enhances the value and authenticity of a handmade Murano product.
